Industrial wind projects in Vermont

In addition to the existing 6-megawatt (MW) facility in Searsburg, six sites are currently targeted for 256 MW of new giant wind turbines. Four other sites have been or are targeted for another approximately 230 MW. More than 152,000 people in 79 towns are potentially affected. All of these together would have an effective capacity of about half that of the McNeil plants in Burlington.
